After a very restful nights sleep, Curtis and I woke to watch the sunrise over the bay while the boys slept in, then Curtis went for a bike ride around the bay. It's kind of like searching for "Where's Waldo". He said he'd wave when he was down at the boardwalk. Can you find him?
When the boys woke up we brought breakfast down for a picnic at the pool. Much easier to clean up outside!
I've decided Carson's little potty seat fits in perfectly in the condo!
We then loaded up and headed for the San Diego Zoo! Aren't they a bunch of good lookin Schettlers!!!
The boys were more entertained with the decorations than the bears it seemed...
We headed from the polar bears down to the panda bears. Can you see the 11 month old baby panda sleeping up in the tree?
Here's big Mamma...
They make you take family pics all over the park, then give you a card hoping you'll pay $30 for a picture. I do really like this one....well, except for Cole,he's looking a little sick....I cheated and snapped a picture of the picture.
By this time, the boys were getting tired and hungry, so we hopped on the Express Bus for a trip around the park. That helped the little guys get off their feet a little bit. After that, we stopped at a table for some packed pb&j and apple slices....the "Schettler Lunch of Choice" for the summer. We took another Airtram down and stopped by the awesome Galopogus Tortoises during feeding time.
This big guy, number 5 is over 150 years old. He kept trying to get in on the grub, but no one would budge.
From there, we waited in line for the guided tour bus. 10 minutes into the 30 minute ride, both boys were asleep. One more picture, and we carried the boys back to the car for naps.
This was a HUGE milestone for the Schettler family because this was the first day trip we've taken since we had Cole 5.5 years ago that we needed neither a stroller nor a DIAPERBAG!!!!! We felt so free being able to hop on and off buses with just our Camelback, and not having to deal with any cumbersome strollers. We'll have a load to bring to the Consign Kids Frisco in the fall! I'm pumped up to clear out and start tagging!
After a nice long nap at the condo, we were off again to hit the streets for dinner. We came prepared this time with our boys bikes.
We walked/rode to the local Chipotle for some grub, went back to the condo to pick up "Blue Magic" and "the BEAST", and set off for an evening ride on the piers.
The boys rode bikes for quite a few miles tonight over a 2.5 hour time period. They were whooped when we made it back to the condo. We hit the hottub for 5 minutes for Beer and Buzzes time, then made it back to catch Cinderella on the DVR. What am amazing day!!! Tomorrow were off to biking to the Midway and taking our bikes across the ferry to Coronado Island. Oh, and Daddy agreed to let Mommy go for a nice long morning sunrise run on the coast! Yay!!!!
