Happy Father's Day!!!! We made record timing and pulled up by 3:30 in the afternoon, and boy, IT'S HOT!!!! 1% humidity and 102 degrees! We had a very relaxing afternoon, the boys ran around the house crazy, rode their bikes, had an amazing home cooked meal and we were off to bed! Unfortunately, it took the boys over 2 hours to wind down.....it's going to be a long month if every bedtime at a new destination is like that!
Day 2 - Monday, June 17, 2013
Up for a 6:30 am mountain bike ride with Curtis. We rode from Curtiss's parents house down to the local trail park.
He was so excited to ride the dirt and rock trails from home.....I did ok until "the BEAST" aka my awesome Stumpjumper met her demise from a giant rock. It slid my when to the left and I fell to the right. I landed on a giant dead bush.....I was stuck underneath my bike, inside the bush, and my awesome hubby, Curtis, came to my rescue. It's a good thing I fell right because had I fallen left I would have ended up in a bush with 2 inch thorns!!!!! Yikes!
Here I am feeling likes rockstar on the hill....really, I was sliding down gripping my break, but it looks cool, right?!?!
After our ride, we hit the local McDs for breakfast with everyone and playtime for the kids. BTW....the new egg white sandwich is pretty good!
We returned for play and naps....long naps...., Over 3 hours for the boys! (And Mommy and Daddy, too). We really needed it!!!!!
Then we were off to Curtiss's Uncle Steve and Aunt Christine's house down in the valley by the Rio Grande for swimming fun!
Yes, Curtis IS the BEST Daddy in the WORLD!!!! Cole showed off his swimming skills while Carson threw diving sticks in for him, and the Grandparents chatted.
We closed out the evening at my FAVORITE Mexican restaurant, La Riviera....yum yum!!!!! Monday nights are $1.25 Taco Night!!!! The best tacos EVER!!!! Everyone was asleep by 9:00 pm....so excited to see what tomorrow has in store for us!
