Grand Teton

Day 41:  We said goodbye to Yellowstone and headed south to Grand Teton.  I remember our wonderful stay in Jackson Hole from 3 years ago and was so excited to bring the boys back!  It was absolutely as beautiful as I remember.

We started with a drive south through Rockerfeller Preserve then found a campsite at Colter's Bay....another first come/first serve campsite, so I was nervous the whole drive....again, the campground was 100% full within 2 hours of our arrival.  The boys helped unload all the wood we chopped at the Floathouse.

They're getting pretty resourceful.

We hit the Visitor Center for Jr. Ranger badge #11....the boys are getting quite a collection!  After the workbook, Ranger talk, and swear UNC the boys were ready to put on our swim suits and head down to Jackson Lake....it's absolutely incredible to be able to camp in these amazing National Parks.

Day 42:  I woke up for a sunrise run before the day got going.

The pictures do not show the incredible height and grandeur of these beautiful Teton Mountains.

This was a special day for Curtis and Cole.  We drove down to Jackson Hole Ski Area for downhill mountain biking!

They took the ski lift up and rode down!!! Cole was in heaven!

That's the bottom of the 2 mile run!

Carson and I played Up and Down the River and played at the splash park while the big boys rode.....next year, Carson, next year!

The boys finished with a jump on the bungees before heading back to the campsite to crash.

Fun times!!!!

Day 43:  Well....this day didn't turn out how we'd hoped....we made the best of if, none the less.

Instead of a relaxing day by Spring Lake, our very interesting "Natural Healing" neighbor invited themselves onto our hike and ended up taking us on a 6 mile hike around Jenny Lake....on a horse trail.  The boys were troopers, and  we made the best of it.  It was so amazing to see the sharp jaggedness of the Teton Mountains.  It was as though they were pushed out of the ground yesterday.

5 hours later, with a few scraped knees and hungry bellies, we made it back to the campsite...not the Jenny Lake experience we were hoping for, but it sure was beautiful.

Tomorrow, we say goodbye to Grand Teton National Park and head south to Flaming Gorge Dam Rec Area.
