Floathouse Family Time

Day 27-38:  We gave big hugs to Great-Grandpa and set off for the 480 mile drive to the Floathouse to arrive just before Happy Hour on July 4th!

These two were counting down the days til they arrived at the Floathouse!

Last year, our project was to rebuild the front dock.  This year, the project was operation chop wood/trail clean up.

We had a weekend of play with Grandma, Grandpa, and cousins Stacy, Royal, and Randy Ray before Sarah, Ellie, and Sam arrived.

The boys hit it off and played all week!

Once Sarah, Ellie, and Sam arrived the play was ON!

The kids played from sun up to sun down!  We even ride bikes up to Harrison!  Carson rode the 8 mile trip up and Sam rode the blue bike back 8 miles while Cole rode the whole thing.... 17 miles!!!  We have some awesome bike riders on our hands!

Too soon we had to say goodbye to Stacy, Royal, and Randy Ray.  The kids only had one day to wait until their other cousins arrived, so we headed up to Conkling for a bit of play.

We even made time for the boys 10th Junior Ranger badge of the trip, Heyburn State Park.  Cole, Sam, and I sealed off the badge with a 3 mile back home.

Soon enough, Laura, JD, Austin, and Nikki arrived and it was a full house!!!

This was the first year we were able to send the kids off on their own to explore, and it was a NEW world for the grown ups!  We set them off with water, snacks, light, safety whistle, walkie talkies to stay connected, and told them to be back by dark!

They hiked, explored, searched for snakes, and ate thimble berries every day!!!

We even put the big kids to work hauling wood to and from the shore.

Our two weeks were filled with campfires, swimming, Up and Down The River, Uno, and RELAXATION!

By our last day, we had the Schettlers, Stobaughs, Hudecs, Grandma Becki, Grandpa Les, the Thomases, Cousin Greg and his family, and Emily and Josh and their kiddos all playing at the 20 x 20 foot Floathouse (without electricity I might add....) A grand total of 15 adults, 12 kids, and a brand new sweet baby....the Floathouse was a rocking!

We are so thankful for these wonderful moments in time....where the waters are still.
