Day 1 - Curtis bravely left for a 675 mile drive with the boys, Cookie, and Casita to El Paso while I stayed back to teach Show Choir Camp this summer.
He left an hour before my 10 hour day started at camp and arrived an hour after I finished.....LOOOOOONG DAY for Daddy! I had an amazing week at SCC, but coming home to a big empty house with no one but me...not even Miss Cookie to pet...was eerie and lonely. You don't realize how the fun and chaos of two lovable, energetic boys drive your whole being until it's gone. My week was filled with singing, cleaning, sleeping....wash, rinse, repeat...so I'll do my best to fill in the fun times the boys had in El Paso!
Day 2 - So much fun!!!! Everyone was so excited to see Grandma Mary and Grandpa Stan! The boys had been counting down the days!!!! It is very beautiful in El Paso with the Franklin Mountains towering in the middle of the city. It rained a bit in the afternoons...just enough to cool everything off and be able to play outside, so boys made daily visits to the skate park!
Day 3 - White Sands day!!!! The boys had been asking all year to visit White Sands again. With the summer heat, you have to go at 6:00 am or after 7:00 pm, so they opted for the evening run!
The boys played, dug tunnels, and ran up and down the dunes!
Even Grandma and Grandpa had fun!
They hit quite a bit of traffic driving home, so it was a LATE night for the boys, but well worth the fun!!!
Day 4 - Yay!!!! Mommy is officially on summer vacation!!!! I flew to El Paso in the morning and took a short 1.5 hour flight to arrive before lunch....its amazing that 1.5 hours of flight = 12 hours of driving!!!! I was SOOOOOO happy to see Curtis and the boys!
We are wonderful Mexican food at La Riviera and played in the culdesac!
There were bits of puddles after the short afternoon rain, so we had s bike splashing contest! Carson won the challenge!
Day 5 - We woke up and hit the skate park early morning before the heat started baking! Time for some biking and Warped Wall!!!
When we arrived back at the house everyone was awake and it was time to celebrate!!! Grandma Mary's birthday is on Tuesday, so it was Birthday day!!!! We kicked it off with a birthday lunch at Leo's with Aunt Libby and a Uncle Hill!
We all stuffed ourselves of amazing Mexican food and came back for naps, then we cooked dinner at home and ceremaded Grandma Mary with ukuleles and Angle Food cake.....yum!!!!
After dinner, we hit the skate park one more time, hitched up the Casita and went to bed....Miss Cookie gets to stay back at Grandma and Grandpa Camp for the summer...I'm going to miss my sweet Cookie Girl.
Tomorrow destination is Joshua Tree National Park!!!!
