Yes, another wonderful day in paradise! Today was filled with hiking, swimming, and napping! My kind of day! We even had yummy picnic dinner on the dock.
The kids are starting to get chafed from all the lifejacket time. I guess that means its about time to leave. Boo! Mom, Laura, Jay, and JD left today. We miss them, but it's a lot less tension with only 8 in the little floathouse instead of 12. It's been such an awesome week!
We've been on healthy eating all week, and I am loving it! We are trying to help Dad with his diet and show him good food doesn't have to be bad for you. Here's our yummy dinner from tonight....grilled shrimp with grilled sweet peppers and avocado served with cilantro wild rice and watermelon for dessert, yum!!!
Day 23 - Monday, July 8th
Today, Curtis and I woke bright and early for a 5:00 am 10 mile run/ride up the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes to Plummer. I've only run the trail north over the lake, and this was a beautiful route! It was 5 miles up hill with a .5-1% railroad grade, then5 miles cruising back down. Curtis had to fix a flat from the Schweitzer downhill ride, so it took him almost all 5 miles to catch me.
We returned just as the circus was waking up, and we were off again to go hiking and explore. This time, we drove the boat down the lake a bit to Plummer Point to hike and snack.
We then spent the rest of the day enjoying the sunshine on the dock.
And I was on cookie duty!
We are getting pretty smelly after a week of showering in the lake, and we're all out of clean clothes, so that's the cue for us to head home. After dinner, Curtis and I packed up all the bins and luggage and drove the boat back to the parking lot to load up the car. We are up at 5:00 am tomorrow for another 580 mile drive up the Grand Tetons.
We'll miss you, beautiful floathouse....where the waters run still.....Until next year!!!
