Highlights of Camp Constantin were being woken up to reveille by the awesome troop bugler (Cole),
the daily Dutch Oven Dessert Nights at the campsite, here’s a pic of Curtis and my awesomely rustic set up. 🤣
Sunrise canoe trip to Hell’s Gate (in the 40 mile per hour winds) 😬
Sunset 5 mile hike to the top of Johnson’s Peak,
And watching Cole do what he loves most...Scouts!
Curtis and I left Camp Constantin 1 day early to head back to Frisco, pick up Carson, load the Camper and head back to Camp Constantin to pick up Cole and set off for Fun Valley! Both boys were whipped from their awesome weeks with Grandma and Scout Camp, and we’re passed out in less than 5 minutes!
Fast forward 740 miles and a quick overnight in Texhoma Park at Dumas and we pulled into site 748 to be greeted by our smiling Plains Cir Crew!
The Plains Cir Crew changes a little bit every year, but this year was maxed out with 34 people in the crew!!!
Edwards, Heckmans, Skaggs, Georges, Schettler, plus many more! 16 (I think) kids in all! So much fun!!!
We spent our days hiking....
Riding bikes, playing Bottle Bash,
And lots and lots and lots of fishing!
We celebrated 50 amazing years of marriage with Gary and Teri Edwards!
Made new friends!
And rekindled friends who we call family!
Finally on the last day, they stocked the ponds, and we were in business!!!
23 trout in all!!!!
We had some awesome helpers to prepare the trout, and Cole put his Complete Angler skills to work, yet again!
Nathan even brought in a 16” big whopper!!
By the end of the night, we had a trout feast for all and a movie night under the stars! What more could you want?!
Too soon it was time to pack up and head home. Thanks to COVID, our plans changed and we headed back to Texas for the first time in 6 years instead of set off for our long road trip to Idaho.
We stopped mid distance in Dumas overnight for a evening on the worlds tallest swings and hotdogs at the park....one more night of awesomeness!
We have loved and treasured our amazing week in Fun Valley, and cannot wait for many more memories to come in our beloved South Fork, CO!
