We were detained a few days because as we were finishing up last minute packing on Tuesday, we found out that the Head Band Director at Cobb Middle School and our dear friend, Cyndi Tucker, resigned....that same afternoon. This is the middle school across the street from our house and school that both boys will attend and we watched build in 2010.
Curtis immediately contacted the Fine Arts Director about the position and met with him the next day. It went very well, and now, we just wait to see if Curtis will have a follow up interview with the Principal. This is all in God’s timing, so we’ll see.....until then, we’re off!
We are so excited about the adventure we have before us!!!!!
We had to eliminate our first stop at Balmorrhea because the state closed due to the largest natural spring pool in the world had unsafe cracks....last year it was the fire.....Balmorrha, I think you’re telling us something....we changed the camping destination to Hueco Tanks State Park. This state park is 45 minutes outside of El Paso with giant boulders like Joshua Tree! But, alas, it was not meant to be thanks to the Cobb opening. It’s probably better this way because we checked the weather at Hueco Tanks yesterday and the high was 105 degrees?! I bet those boulders were boiling to the touch.
Soooo.....the alarm went off at 4:00 am and we pulled out by 4:50am, and we’re driving straight through 663 miles to El Paso to make it just in time for Grandma Mary’s birthday today! We cannot wait to explore the adventure we have ahead of us! Summer, 2018, here we come!!!!
