Yes, this place is amazing!!!! Thank you Grandpa Jim and Grandma Nancy! Sarah and Joe had arrived two days earlier and the boys were super excited to see Ellie and Sam.
We pulled in before 10:00 am ready for four full days at the beach with our cousins!
We pulled in before 10:00 am ready for four full days at the beach with our cousins!
And played....
And played....
The first day, we hit the public beach. The winds and riptides were too strong, so the shuttle to the private beach was not running. No problem for us!
After a few hours at the beach, we headed to the pool for hottub and swim. :) Funness!
Day 4: We were so excited that the private shuttle was running so we could go to the private Emerald Grande beach. We were the first ones there, and had the whole beach to ourselves for 3 hours!!!
When we had our share of fun in the sun, we returned to the pool to rinse off and hottub, then we hit the local fish monger to stock up for dinner.
We went with the choice of 2.5 lb filet of golden pile!
Curtis fixed the most delicious blackened filets....mouth-watering goodness!!! I served them with bacon, balsamic, and honey brussel sprouts that melted in your mouth. What a fabulous day!!!
Day 5: Lather, rinse, repeat....we're in heaven!!!
The waters and winds slowed and the sun came out. What a beautiful day at the beach!
We watched the dolphin pods play in the water and the amazing surf boarders sailing in the Gulf of Mexico. All the stress is melting away....
3 hours later, we were cooked, and ready to hit the pool again.
We ended the evening with a few games of chess, happy hour, and leftovers. The kiddos crashed by 8:30 pm.
Day 6: Today was our last day at the beach, and was going to be the best weather yet!!! We wanted to soak up every second. We packed lunches and headed out to the private beach.
The weather was perfect....70 degrees, no wind, calm waters....
We made sand castles, played football, swam on boogie boarded, AND....relaxed, of course.....
Too soon, we were cooked, and ready to go back to the beautiful Emerald Grande to relax. Tonight was out night out, and treat from Mom. We opted for the local favorite Dewey Destin's Seafood Restaurant, and it did not disappoint.
What incredible memories we have made....everyone will be driving back with a little more sleep, a lot more sun, and smiles on our faces. Happy Spring Break 2017!!!
