Fun Valley

Day 52-60:  We packed up and left that dumpy campground with mice in tow and headed to our beloved Fun Valley 3 days early.  The boys have been asking "When are we going to Fun Valley?!  When are we going to Fun Valley?!"  Everyday since leaving our other favorite place, The Floathouse.  We found the most beautiful spot #751.

Yes, we have two very happy boys now!

Our spot was even surrounded by flicks of baby ducks and Canadian Geese!

Here's how our day goes, we relax, sleep in, get up and fish, ride bikes, fish more, relax, eat some, and go to bed.  Fun Valley stocks the ponds with yummy rainbow trout!

Three days after we arrived, our beloved Plains Circle Crew from Frisco, The Edwards and the Heckmans, pulled up with 18 people in tow and the boys thought they died and went to heaven...FRIENDS!!!!!

Now the fun really begins!

One day, we caught 18 trout....with the help of the "Master Fish Whisperer", Alex.

Carson netted the first one (we didn't eat that one) and Curtis caught the 2nd one...turned out to be a sucker fish...didn't eat that one either...

But after that, it was trout, trout, trout, every catch!

We had the whole crew fishing here.

Soon enough it was time to clean them and we put the teenagers to work.

Conner, Peyton, and Maddie cut the heads and tails, Ashlyn (and Carson) filleted and cut the fins, and Cole and Gabbie seasoned and packed.

Bravo, Plains Circle Crew, nice job!  They tasted as good as they looked!!!!

When the big kids went golfing, we spent the beautiful morning tubing down the Rio Grande River that flows through Fun Valley.

This is one happy Carson!

Carson ride with Mommy while Cole and Gabie shared a tube.  These two were kindred spirits all week...inseparable!

After our tubing fun, we stocked up on All You Can Eat Taco Tuesday at the Mess House, then teeter-totter fun with the Littles.

Yes, the Schettler boys were in heaven!  We filled out week with play, fun, and friends.

We love you, Fun Valley!  Thanks for an amazing end to an incredible summer!
