X Glacier - on to Grandpa!!!!!

Day 26-29:  The alarm went off at 5:00am, we hitched, dumped, refilled our water, and said good-bye to the Biscamps then headed for our next destination....On the way, once we got on I90, we looked at the map and said, “Glacier will always be there, but Grandpa won’t”....so....we cancelled our reservations at the National Park, added another 1,000 miles to the trip, and set off for Oregon.  550 miles later, we passed over Coeur d’Alene (We’ll be back) and stopped for the night at the Spokane Valley KOA....only 450 more miles to go!  We were back on the road the next morning by 8:00 am, stopped at our cousin’s favorite burger place D&C Drive In in Boardman, OR and 10  hours later arrived at Grandpas house!

We spent our three precious days with Grandpa  playing Bridge, Up and Down the River, and Dominoes, and getting some great advice on cooking a mean breakfast!

We also drove down to Eugene for a spaghetti supper and fun night with the cousins!

These two hit it off like kindred spirits!

Too soon our short time with Great-Grandpa had come to an end and it was time for us to start our long trek back to Texas.  We will treasure these wonderful memories forever.  We love you, Grandpa!
