WDW Extravaganza Episode IV: Hollywood

Day 6:  Today’s the day.......GALAXY’S EDGE!  This day needs a little rewind....the boys have been anticipating this day for months....many months!  Back to when we found out 6 months before our trip the opening date of Galaxy’s Edge would be August 29th!!!!  YES, Galaxy’s Edge, here we come!  We started watching one Star Wars Episode every weekend, 8 weeks out til the trip destination!  Also, The boys researched all the amazing experiences in Galaxy’s Edge and quickly decided they wanted to create both Handmade Personalized Lightsaber at Savi’s AND build a droid at Droid Depot....🤑....cha-ching....we made a deal with the boys that if they saved up half of the cost of the total of the experiences they wanted to do, then we would supplement the other half.  Thankfully, Grandma donated $50 in Disney GiftCards for each boy to be added for their total and Carson has a birthday in October, so he put 100% of his birthday money towards the trip.  Cole, on the other hand had to work. He mowed lawns, helped Carson with transportation (aka biking buddy) to school almost every morning at $1.00 a day, cleaned, did laundry, and before he knew it he had saved up his $150 share....just in time for the trip!

Fast-forward to Day 6:  We we’re determined to his the Extra Magic Hours Rope Drop at 7:00am...which meant we had to call for a 5:45am Uber at the front of Fort Wilderness since the buses weren’t running that early.  Rewind an hour to get up and drive the truck the Fort Wilderness Outpost, and our alarms were set for 4:30am (3:30am Dallas time). 😳

All smiles here!!!  We made it in time to be at the FRONT of the rope drop!

We chatted with the Jedi Knight for 30 minutes until the Storm Troopers arrived to march us to Galaxy’s Edge!

This place is incredible!!!  We were marched with the masses straight to Smuggler’s Run at the Millennium Falcon!

Cole and Carson sat as co-pilots, Mommy and Daddy we’re Gunners, and Grandma was Engineer.

This ride was awesome, but I have to admit, I’m not the biggest fan of the 4d rides...makes me very nauseous.  I like a nice traditional roller coaster!  We headed to the Jedi Training to sign up the boys, then next stop....Slinky Dog Run in Toy Story Land!

This was up there with Expedition Everest for me!  We all LOVED it!!!!

From there, we met up with the Biscamps for Tower of Terror.  A little persuasion was needed for Carson, but after 60 minutes in line, he was in!

I think the ghost of the Hotel Tower stole Carson because all we see in the picture is Curtis, Grandma, and me staring where Carson was seated, but no Carson in the picture?!?!  Cole, of course, was loving every second!!!  After the Tower of Terror, it was time for Jedi Training for the boys.  Cole just squeaked in 6 weeks before his 12th birthday because it’s open to ages 4-12.

They battled Kylo Ren!

Such fun!  After the Jedi Training it was time for the Star Tours FastPass....another 4d experience....

Once it was over Mommy needed a LONG walk to calm the nausea...LONG walk....we strolled through Galaxy’s Edge for tasty Galactic Soda!

A little walk and it was time for our next FastPass, we headed back to Toy Story Land for the fun shooting FastPass at Toy Story Mania!  Lowest score had to buy the first round of beers!

Chris and Dylan’s team totally creamed all of us!  Mel and I were at a poor 28% accuracy, but she totally smoked me on her score!

We caught our 3rd FastPass for part of Indiana Jones Stunt Show, then it was time.......Savi’s Custom Lightsaber!!!!

The boys picked Peace and Justice build for Carson and Elemental Nature for Cole.

If you’re a StarWars fan, this is a must!  Make sure you schedule way in advance, though.  What an experience, full with cast members taking you through every step of the building process from choosing your Kyber Crystal, emitter, sleeves, switches, end caps...the whole bit!  And the thing is heavy!

Awesome!!!!  These are some happy boys!

It was time for the adults to have a little fun!  Happy Hour reservations at Oga’s Cantina!  Go big or go home!

We had tasty concoctions of Blue Milk and Pomegranite Habanero drink, Batuu Bits, Oga’s Obsession (Crazy jello thing with Lemonade, cotton candy, blueberry popping pearls, and PopRocks) and beer!

We were filled with crazy space food and went next door for our Droid Depot build! BB-Red and C2S2!

By this point we were total walking zombies...15 hours later, we stopped at the Hollywood Studios Pizzaria for a quick dinner, rode the bus back to Fort Wilderness, and the boys played with the lightsabers and droids until they could no longer keep their eyes open.  What a magical day in Hollywood Studios!
